Gift Block not appearing on checkout

If the Checkout Gift Block is not showing on your checkout – review the following steps to ensure everything is turned on and the correct settings have all been saved.

⚠️ Important:

The Checkout Gift Block is for Shopify PLUS stores using Shopify Checkout. It will not be visible on stores using Shopify Basic, Grow, or Advanced.


Step 1: Gift Option status must be set to active

Your Gift Option status must be set to Active before it will appear in your storefront or checkout pages. Draft Gift Options will not be visible on your online store or checkout pages.

  1. Click Customize next to the Gift Option you want to activate from the Wrapped home page
  2. Select Active from the dropdown in the Status section
  3. Click Save to activate

Step 2: Turn on the Checkout Gift Block

Gift Blocks tell the app where to surface your Gift Options on your storefront or checkout.

  1. Click Customize next to the Gift Option from the Wrapped home page
  2. Scroll down to the Checkout Gift Blocks section and toggle on the setting labelled "Add to Shopify checkout page"
  3. Click Save turn on Checkout Gift Blocks

Step 3: Ensure the app has been added in your checkout editor

The Gift Block will not appear at checkout until you add it in the checkout editor.

  1. Visit the checkout editor via Shopify Admin > Settings > Checkout
  2. In the Configuration section, click Customize next to the configuration that you want to customize
  3. Select the checkout page you want to add the Gift Block to (if using three page checkout)
  4. Click Add block in the section you wan to add the Gift Block to
  5. Click Save to activate

Step 4: Ensure Gift Product is published to the correct channel

For stores that have created or connected a Gift Product to their Gift Options.

Online Store Channel

  1. Click Customize next to your Gift Option from the Wrapped home page
  2. In the Gift Product section, toggle on the setting labelled "Publish gift product to online store"
  3. Click Save to publish the Gift Product

Headless Channel

  1. Click Customize next to your Gift Option from the Wrapped home page
  2. In the Gift Product section, click Customize which will take you to the Gift Product settings page
  3. In the Publishing section, click Manage to view and edit all your channels
  4. Select your Headless channel and click Done
  5. Click Save to publish the Gift Product

Note: This is a requirement from Shopify that allows the Gift Option to charge a fee and be added as a line-item to an order.


Step 5: Check that your Gift Product has available inventory

For stores that have created or connected a Gift Product to their Gift Options.

When using Gift Options with a connected Gift Product, you must ensure the Gift Product has inventory available, or is set to continue selling when out of stock (verify this in the Shopify products admin for each gift variant).

If all gift variants are out of stock – the Gift Block will not appear.


Step 6: Check that Gift Product is available in markets

For stores that have created or connected a Gift Product to their Gift Options and stores using Shopify markets to service international customers.

The Gift Product must be available in the market to ensure the Gift Blocks appear. If the Gift Product is not in the market the Gift Block will remain hidden. This is not for stores using Gift Options without a connected Gift Product.


Step 7: Check for the Wrapped visibility tag

Products that have been tagged with the Wrapped visibility tag will not offer gift options, and will not show the Gift Block. If the product has been tagged this way, you must remove the tag for the Gift Block to appear.

  • wrapped:disabled for older stores
  • wrapped:blocks:hide for newer stores
