Disable gift messaging for specific gift variants
This guide will help you customize individual gift variants further by preventing customers from adding gift messaging details on certain gift variants of your choosing. For example, you may wish to offer two gift variants ("Gift Wrap + Handwritten note", and "Gift Wrap only").
- Click "Manage Variants" in Wrapped gift option settings below your connected gift product. You must have a connected gift product in your gift option settings.
- The Shopify Admin Product Editor will open in a new tab.
- Then select the gift variant you want to configure (example: Gift wrap only)
- Scroll down to the bottom of the Variant Editor, and press "+ Block", and add "Wrapped: Gift variant settings"
- The Wrapped app-block UI will appear in the Block section.
- Disable gift messaging fields for the gift variant by ticking the checkboxes, and press Save.
- The updates will automatically apply to your gift blocks within a few moments.
- Customers will no longer be able to include gift messaging details on the customized gift variant.
To prevent unexpected content layout shifts the gift messaging fields are not hidden. Instead they become disabled to prevent the customer from adding details. If you prefer to hide the gift messaging fields this can only be done by turning off the gift messaging settings entirely in Wrapped gift options.
