Which gift blocks are right for me?
Wrapped allows you to offer tailored gift option solutions to your customers. This article will outline the different types of widgets available - and where they appear on your storefront.
Each widget represents the checkbox the customer ticks to add gift options to their purchase, or individual items.
Gift Options for Orders
When you want your customer to mark their entire purchase as a gift, you will activate the Cart List widget(s).
Cart List widget
The Cart List widgets appear on your storefront on your Cart Page, and on your Cart Drawer. The widget itself will appear near the Checkout button, usually above or below the cart subtotal. This widget marks the entire Order as a gift.
If you are charging a fee for the gift wrap service, it will appear as a new item in the cart. You can turn this off (do not charge a fee) in the Widget settings in the app.
You can turn each of the Cart List widgets on/off individually, as some storefront themes do not have a cart drawer. These widgets are grouped under the Cart Page and the Cart Drawer sections in the app.
Gift Options for Products
If you are allowing your customers to mark individual items as a gift, you will activate either the Product details widget, or the Cart Item widget(s), or both as they may work together.
If you are charging a fee for individual gift options, your customer will see the updated price as they complete their purchase (on the cart or checkout pages).
Product details widget
The Product details widget appears on your individual product detail pages in your Shopify storefront. When the customer adds a gift option to this product, and then presses "Add to Cart" or "Buy Now" or "Shop Pay" the product and the gift option add-on will be added together, and appear in the shopping cart on your Shopify storefront.
Cart Item widget
The Cart Item widget appears below each item in the cart, either on your cart page, and/or cart drawer on your Shopify storefront. This widget works very well with the Product details widget, meaning if the customer adds a gift option to the product when adding to the cart - it will appear automatically in the Cart Item widget.
In the screenshot below - you can see the candle has a gift option added and the price has been updated (from $75.99 to $80.98) indicating the gift option add-on has an associated fee. You can compare the original price to the product details (screenshot above).
You can turn each of the Cart Item widgets on or off individually, as some storefront themes do not have a cart drawer. These widgets are grouped under the Cart Page and the Cart Drawer sections in the app.
